To determine the number of parasitized fly pupae needed for your individual situation you will need to take into consideration the number of animals, level of your current fly infestation, the size of your operation and the results you wish to achieve.
The recommended start up time is early spring 3 to 4 weeks prior to your normal fly season and continuing every 2 to 4 weeks until the first frost in the fall.

The quantity and frequency may need to be adjusted based on the fly breeding habitat and level of fly infestation. Care should be taken to distribute the product in a manner to prevent domestic birds from eating the pupae before the parasites hatch.
If the fly population increases rapidly at any time during the year, (peak fly breeding periods- mid July to late August) you should, 2 to 3 weeks prior to that time, order a special shipment of 2 to 3 times your usual amount of parasitized fly pupae. A special shipment should also be ordered if you fail to start your EcoLOGICAL Program before the flies are numerous. These special shipments, along with the use of fly traps, will reduce the fly population quickly.

The time it takes to establish your Fly Parasite Program varies due to many factors, including the amount of poisonous pesticide residue, climate, severity of current fly infestation, etc.
Establishing a properly managed EcoLOGICAL Program provides you with a sensible, long term method of fly control. We also recommend the use of traps and manure management along with the fly parasites. The traps help eliminate adult flies and manure management reduces the condition that attracts flies to breed.
